The Club

Founded in 1970, The Finnish Lapphund Club was originally a breed club for the Finnish Lapponian Dog only, however, the organisation grew in 1993 when the Lapponian Herder and Swedish Lapphund joined the club. Thereby the name was changed into The Lapphund Club of Finland. Currently there are about 4000 members in the club. In 1997, the club was granted a full breed club status by the Finnish Kennel Club.

The club is pleased to offer its members the following:

  • Advice and assistance for breeders
  • Listings of available puppies and upcoming litters
  • Full-color club magazine in Finnish, published four times a year
  • Club events, shows, obedience trials
  • Club memorabilia featuring different Lapphund motifs

Membership fees for international members in 2020:

  • 30 € annual fee (club magazine subscription included)
  • 9 € for p&p
  • 7 € for family members of a club member (club magazine subscription not included)
